Volunteer Accommodation and other Questions
Where am I going to live?
ONGVoluntariado makes sure that each volunteer has a number of options of where to stay during their placement. In the case of a group travelling together a private apartment or house located near to the project could be a preferable option. Another option that we offer is to stay with local families in a private room, sharing common services (kitchen, wifi, launderette etc).
Will there be other volunteers staying with me?
Depending on the time of year at which you choose to do your placement, you will have a fair possibility of coinciding with other volunteers during your stay. If you do not end up staying with other foreign volunteers, we are sure that this will not dampen the success of your trip, as the open and friendly character of many Latin-Americans will make sure you establish social connections quickly wherever you are.
Will it be a dangerous area where I am staying?
The areas in which you can find our host families and partner projects are safe areas, without exception. We will provide every volunteer with additional information about personal safety advice, preventative measures and information about the area that you are going to that you should bear in mind.
